Hi everyone! I just got back from a CCI Canada Conference in Florida, so I thought I would add a post to the blog to talk about it a bit.
Both Kim and Trevor also were at the conference, along with two of our Board members, Sylvia Reimer and Merle Schmidt. Overall it was a great conference. The purpose of it was to have the Christian camps of Canada gather to learn, discuss, and be encouraged in their camping ministries. It was great talking to so many people dedicated to serving God in camping ministry!
Of course, having it in Florida was great! The weather was much warmer than back here at home. But it is great to be back, even though there is snow on the ground and the weather is cold. Besides, being at camp in winter is great because everything is beautiful when covered with a layer of wonderful white coldness!

The CCI Canada conference was in Florida? They shipped everyone who’s in charge of camps to Florida for a conference?
Isn’t that a little bit wasteful? That’ll give that conference a very large carbon footprint.
I’m a little stunned that a Canadian conference would be held at the opposite end of another country.
P.S. I love the little smiley face at the bottom of this webpage.

It was actually cheaper to hold the conference in Florida than in the location they were talking about in Canada. So it worked out nice. In regards to the carbon footprint, I can see your point. Not sure if the footprint would have been that much smaller if they held it in Alberta (where they have often held it in the past), as most camps come from southern Ontario.
